Wordfind: A Healthy Way of Eating

March is National Nutrition Month

When it comes to healthy aging, good nutrition makes all the difference! Most of us try to follow a healthy diet, so it’s reassuring to find out we’re on the right track.

At the beginning of the 2016, Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia M. Burwell and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack released an updated set of nutritional guidelines, based on the latest science-based recommendations on diet. You can read the new 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans here. As you can see, it’s not all about the food pyramid anymore!

One feature of the new guidelines that will probably be familiar to health-conscious diners is a recommendation of the popular Mediterranean diet, which includes lots of veggies, fruits, whole grains, fish and healthy fats.

To get you inspired, this month’s puzzle is a cheat sheet on some of the foods you can choose if you’re following this healthy diet. Take a coffee break, download your copy of the puzzle here, and give your brain a workout!
